ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW WHEN APPLYING TO DENTAL SCHOOL IN AUSTRALIA

  • The most common entrance exam in Australia when it comes to applying for a dental degree is the GAMSAT. This test covers your scientific knowledge, it tests you on your writing skills, as well as problem-solving and critical thinking. 
  • In Australia, this test will cost about £295. If you are taking t in the UK it will cost around £270. 
  • For those applying to an undergraduate dental degree, the test they might be more likely to have to take is the UCAT ANZ. This test is taken on a computer, and you are given about two hours to complete it. It is a multiple-choice test. Similar to GAMSAT, this test will also evaluate things such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and your scientific knowledge. 
  • The price of the UCAT ANZ depends on where you are taking it from. If you take it in Australia you will need to pay around £230. If you are taking it from overseas the price of the test goes up to about £290. 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE 

International students looking to study in Australia can apply directly through the institution’s website. Here you will be able to either mail them the required documents or upload them digitally. In your application, you will need to provide the following documentation 

  • Proof of your school grades, as well as other school-related achievements you might have 
  • Reference letter(s) 
  • A letter of motivation 
  • Proof of your English proficiency as mentioned earlier 
  • Your proof of identity. This can either be a copy of your passport, ID, or birth certificate 
  • You might be asked for more or fewer documents depending on where you choose to apply.
