WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE APPLYING TO STUDY MEDICINE IN POLAND AS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

This article focuses on what it is like to apply to a university in Poland as an international medical student. We aim to inform you about entry requirements, exams, fees, and more. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

  • If you come from a non-English speaking country you will need to prove your English proficiency by taking either the IELTS, the TOELF iBT, or the Cambridge English exam.  
  • The minimum score you need to get in the IELTS is 6.0.  
  • The minimum score for the TOELF iBT or the Cambridge English exam is 75 points. 
  • The most appreciated A-level subjects are biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.  
  • You need to have taken completed at least two of these subjects to be offered a place in a medical course in Poland.  
  • Your grades should be at least Bs or above. 

ENTRANCE EXAM  

The entrance exams differ depending on what university you are applying to.  

  • In some cases, if you have taken the MCAT, GAMSAT, or UCAT you don’t have to take the entrance exam provided by the university.  
  • The required score for MCAT is at least 504 points.  
  • For UCAT you will need to have scored at least 2510 points.  
  • And for the GAMSAT you need to get at least 57 points. 

If you did not take any of the above or did not score enough points, you can take the MS Teams Entrance Exam.  

  • This will be like an interview in which you will be asked four questions on two subjects, the subjects that might be talked about include mathematics, chemistry, biology, and physics, or biology. 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE 

You can apply through the https://educationpoland.pl/application-form/ website. 

  • The application fee is around £70.  

The required documents might differ depending on what university you are applying to, but overall you will need to provide  

  • A completed and signed application form 
  • A copy of your passport or ID 
  • Evidence of your education and grades. 
  • And as previously mentioned you will need to provide proof of your English. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE 

  • If you come from within the European Union, the latest date you can apply is September.  
  • If you are coming from outside of Europe, then you need to apply by August at the latest. 

FEES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS 

The fees for international students are around £10,094 a year. 

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS 

Poland My First Choice Program scholarship provides the recipient with £375 a month. This money is towards living expenses, housing, and so on. The scholarship is for students from countries like America, India, Sweden, and more.
